Julia Trotti

Every month at Photocontinental we run a Photography competition which we receive incredible expressions of photography and art. Last month after our judges selected Julia Trotti's winning photograph, we stumbled across a collection of her work and we thought we would feature some of it here, and guess what? She's just eighteen.

Julia TrottiAlthough Julia was only fifteen when she discovered photography with a point and shoot compact camera, she quickly started thinking and seeing things creatively. With in a year she found the limitations of a compact camera and bought her first DSLR. Now using her Canon 5D MKII, she has no trouble getting out the picures in her mind into a piece of art.
Julia loves to shoot portraiture the most and loves coming up with crazy concepts and costumes to dress her models up in to make these pictures in her head real. That surreal atmosphere Julia captures comes from a concept she thought up before even touching the camera, then the location and the subjects clothing helps to create her own sense of style.
Julia is already accepting commissions and has had her work published on book covers and a few music album covers and is now breaking into the world of fashion magazines.
